November 2 Update:

The contractor has completed this project.

October 5 Update:
The contractor has completed the final phase of construction on Forby and Alt Roads.  There will be NO MORE CLOSURES of Alt Road or Forby Road.  Motorists should use caution as the contractor completes miscellaneous work on the project.

August 31 Update:

The contractor will move to the final phase of construction starting on Wednesday, September 7.  Forby Road will be closed east of Meramec Boulevard during this phase.  Motorists will have full access to Alt Road and the intersection of Alt Road and Forby Road during this phase.

August 17 Update:

The contractor has re-opened the section of Alt Road between Forby Road and the Wildwood City limits.  They expect to complete the entrance to Wren Meadow Drive and open that access to Alt Road by August 22.  During this next phase of construction, Forby Road will be closed between Meramec Boulevard and Alt Road.  Motorists will need to use the signed detour route along Alt Road and Route 109 to access the Eureka area during this closure.  This closure is expected to be in place through September.

Project Overview:

The City of Eureka has started a project to reconstruct Alt and Forby Roads near the south border of the City of Wildwood.  Their project will widen Alt Road and Forby Road, re-align the Alt Road/Forby Road intersection, and construct a pedestrian trail along the east edge of Alt Road and the north edge of Forby Road between Wren Meadow Drive and Meramec Boulevard.  Sections of Alt Road and Forby Road will be closed at times to complete the work, with signed detour routes in place during closures.  Forby Road west of the Alt Road intersection will remain open and accessible at all times to at least one lane of traffic.
