This Week's Question of the Week...Sidewalks on Manchester Road?
Q. With summer just around the corner and with my family living so close to Town Center we would love to save gas, get some exercise and get to walking. There has been talk about streetscapes along (Old) Manchester Road to allow many of us to safely access the Town Center and connecting trailways but we have seen no action. When will this take place? I think it is an important piece of the Town Center puzzle. Let's get on it!!

Answer provided by Department of Public Works Staff
A. The City of Wildwood has plans to construct the first phase of the Manchester Road Streetscape Improvements, which will add bike lanes, sidewalks, street trees, street lights and other Town Center Streetscape amenities to the segment of Manchester Road between Schnucks Wildwood Crossing and the roundabout at Taylor Road. This project is budgeted for construction to begin this year. Additionally, as new developments occur along Manchester Road, it is a development requirement that streetscape improvements get constructed along their Manchester Road frontage. In the case of some smaller developments that have already occurred, the developers have deposited funds in escrow with the City to be used towards completing a larger streetscape project.
