Babysitting 101 - Second Class Added
Due to the popularity of the Babysitting 101 class the City is offering next week, a second class is now being offered.  The second class will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Please click the link below for information on how to register for this class.
Swimming Pool Pass Information
The Wildwood City Council approved on May 27, 2008, agreements with three (3) municipalities to offer its residents use of those cities' outdoor swimming pool facilities at a reduced rate. The Cities include Ballwin, Chesterfield, and Fenton.  The City of Wildwood is receiving subsidized rates from the Cities of Ballwin and Chesterfield, and has reached a billing agreement with the City of Fenton, for these memberships.  The City of Wildwood will be funding $80 per family for this opportunity.

Information on each facility, the associated costs, and the personal information that is needed to obtain a pass can be found at the link below:

Old State Underpass

Weather permitting, the remaining portion of the Hamilton-Carr Trail and the tunnel under Old State Road will be paved next week.
Is That Allowed? Code Question of the Week...

Q - Are permits required for an inflatable pool?

A - Yes; all inflatable pools, and similar above-ground pool structures, that are 24" or more in depth, or 250 square feet or larger in area, or equipped with a water-recirculating system, are required to have permits prior to erection and use.  Inflatable pools present the same hazards to young children and adults as any other swimming pool.  "Barriers" (enclosures) to prevent young children from gaining unsupervised access to the pool must be provided to ensure safety. Authorizations for these structures are granted by the City of Wildwood, with permits issued by its contractual agent - St. Louis County Department of Public Works.

This Week's Question of the Week...Landscaping Highway 100?
Q. - Is there any consideration for landscaping between the lanes of Hwy 100, east and west of Hwy 109? Is this something Wildwood is responsible for, or would it be the state department only? The landscaping that Chesterfield did on Clarkson Rd is beautiful.

Answer provided by the Department of Public Works
A. - Highway 100 is under the jurisdiction of the MO Department of Transportation, but they did permit the City to complete some initial landscaping at the intersection of Highway 100 and Westglen Farms Drive.  While it has not been discussed at great length internally, the Department of Public Works would like to see some additional landscaping in the center median further to the west.  We believe the City of Chesterfield funded a good portion of the landscaping on Clarkson and Olive through a Federal Grant.  This may be something for the City to consider in the future.  As future grants become available, we will consider applying.
Have You Ever Wondered? So Ask!
Is there a question about Wildwood that you've wanted to ask, but haven't bothered with calling City Hall?  If you're wondering, someone else probably is too.  So, now's the chance to pose the question and get the answer.  The weekly e-newsletter, now provides the opportunity to submit your questions.  They will be answered by the appropriate staff person and posted in future e-newsletters.

Submit your questions via email to Kathy Arnett. The answers will then be posted in future e-newsletters.
