| Groundwater Monitoring Wells |
 |
Since Fall 2007, the Department of Planning has been working with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources-Groundwater Section, regarding the installation of monitoring wells in the rural areas of the City that have experienced problems with their water sources. The selected locations for these two (2) wells are in unimproved City right-of-way located at Hencken Road/State Route 100 and in Babler State Park (northwest area). The purpose of these wells are to provide data to the State and the City on the condition of the groundwater resource and how it is being affected by growth in Wildwood and surrounding areas.
Data from these two (2) monitoring wells can now be viewed on the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Website at the following links:

| Is That Allowed? Code Question of the Week... |
 |
Q - Do all of my vehicles have to be licensed; what if they are "classic" vehicles?
A - Every vehicle parked, kept or stored on any premises shall be properly licensed and operable. Vehicles that are not properly licensed and/or are inoperable are considered to be "Nuisance Vehicles" and such vehicles shall be parked, kept or store inside an enclosed structure or removed from the property. The same goes for "classic" vehicles.
If you would like to know more about Nuisance Vehicles, please visit our link and search for Article V "Nuisance Vehicles", Section 215, 270.

| This Week's Q&A...Fort in the Creek? |
 |
|
Q. I would like to ask if there are any restrictions by our city or other governmental entities that limits what one could build or put into Caulks Creek?
Answer provided by Department of Public Works
A. Creeks are part of the natural stormwater system and need to be kept clear of any obstructions to water flow. Therefore, nothing can be built or placed in the creek (Caulks or any other creek) without a Floodplain Development Permit and/or Grading Permit, which will require a detailed engineering analysis of the impact any proposal may have on water flow. Floodplain Development Permits and Grading Permits are issued by the City's Department of Public Works. There can also be requirements from other entities, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, depending upon the work being completed. With the exception of bridges or culverts for access purposes or approved erosion control structures, most improvements are not permitted, such as kid's playhouses, forts, dams, fill or other structures. Additionally, it is also unlawful to dump yard waste in or along the creek (ie. tree branches and grass clippings). For more information on work in the creek, please contact the Department of Public Works at 636-458-0440. |
