June 3, 2019

The contractor has completed all of the concrete work and will continue with restoration work and installation of the signal equipment over the next few weeks.

April 29, 2019

The contractor has completed the concrete work at Bent Ridge and began work at the Shepard Road intersection with Route 109 as well as on Pond-Grover Loop Road, just east of Route 109.  They will continue working at these locations over the next month, as weather allows.

March 29, 2019

The contractor placed some of the underground signal conduits under Route 109 and Shepard Road at the Route 109/Shepard Road intersection.  These conduits will be used for the new pedestrian crossing that will be installed at that intersection.  They will return to this location to begin to install the sidewalk ramps and signal equipment later in April.

The contractor is scheduled to begin work to install the revised crosswalk at Bent Ridge Drive on the East side of Route 109 in April, as weather allows.  The existing crosswalk on Bent Ridge Drive will be moved further to the east and a rectangular rapid flashing beacon lights will be installed at that location to notify motorists when a pedestrian is in the crosswalk.

Project Overview

This project will improve existing crosswalks on the Wildwood Greenway (along Route 109) crossing Pond-Grover Loop Road, Shepard Road, and Bent Ridge Drive. In addition, the project will add new signalized crosswalks across Route 109 at Shepard Road and improve the existing crosswalk crossing Taylor Road at Plaza Drive.  The project is expected to be completed by early Summer.
