Mark your calendars for June 3, 2023
This annual National Trails Day Event is extremely popular and fills quickly! There is a $20.00 registration fee and you must register in advance, starting on Friday, April 28th.. The Green Rock Trail Challenge is capped at 150 participants.
The hike will be slightly different than in years past. Details and a map will be available closer to the date
The event starts/finishes in Greensfelder County Park, at the Muckerman Shelter. Participants are asked to arrive at 7:30 a.m. (or slightly earlier) for snacks, giveaway pickup, and preparation for the hike.
The hike can be enjoyed by anyone, of any age, but please keep in mind, it does require a reasonable fitness level. Please note, this hike is not a casual stroll on an asphalt path. This hike is 7+ miles long. Weather/temperature and a varying terrain have great influence over the level of difficulty that might be encountered during this event.
Dogs are NOT allowed to be part of the hike. Also, while parents are the best judge, we do not encourage carrying infants on the hike. This event can be a bit strenuous for some, but there is a great lunch at the end, which makes it all worth the effort!
